Cultural Council · Meeting of October 12, 2026

Wilmington Cultural Council Co-Chair Karen M. Minich-Pourshadi and a Mass Cultural Council representative publicized the statewide October 15 grant deadline in a WCTV interview. Minich-Pourshadi said the council received $11,800 for fiscal year 2027 and funded 19 grantees last year, including Wilmington Public Library teen and youth programs, museum passes for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Museum of Fine Arts, and a "Manja Meatballs and Murder" event at the Wilmington Senior Center.

She said a community feedback survey launched in June has drawn about 195 responses, with residents requesting more family-friendly and adult-oriented events, fairs and festivals. "No, there are no exceptions and there are no extensions," Minich-Pourshadi said of the deadline. The council has eight voting members appointed by the town and meets the first Tuesday of each month at Town Hall.
