Patch Renews Scrutiny Of Wilmington's Sutton Brook Groundwater

WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Public Library closed out its midweek programming with a gardening lecture Wednesday evening and two children's events Thursday, continuing a summer reading season built around the theme "Plant a Seed, Read."

COMMUNITY & ARTS Master Gardener and naturalist Nancy Kuhajda returned to the library's Community Room Wednesday evening for the second installment of a three-part gardening series tied to the summer reading theme, walking attendees through mid-summer gardening tips and tricks. The talk, like the rest of the series, was free and open to the public.

Thursday brought a full slate for younger patrons. Coffee, Tea, My Toddler, & Me drew parents and toddlers into the library's Meeting Room at 11 a.m. for coffee, play, and a story time led by staff member Amanda. The library followed that evening with Kidz Crafternoon at 6 p.m., where children built fairy gardens as part of a themed craft-and-story hour; the library asked families to register in advance given limited space.
