WILMINGTON — Select Board scheduled November 21 Special Town Meeting on data center zoning. Director of Planning and Conservation Valerie Gingrich presented the bylaw framework, which would allow small data center facilities by Special Permit in industrial districts while prohibiting larger facilities town-wide. The proposal, modeled on Mansfield, Massachusetts regulations, responds to state interest in AI infrastructure development.
The Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the bylaw September 29. The Board also received an Eversource presentation on the Burlington Energy Project, which includes transmission and distribution lines affecting Wilmington and a public hearing scheduled for September 24 in Burlington.
