Storm Runoff Closes Dozens Of Massachusetts Beaches Statewide

Statewide beach closures triggered by this week's storm runoff and a full slate of summer library programming top the news out of Wilmington today, as other coverage highlighted local students' academic honors.

The Wilmington Public Library has a busy stretch of summer programming ahead. The Cozy Mystery Book Club meets Friday, July 24, at 1 p.m. in the WPLD Community Room to discuss "Smile Beach Murder" by Alicia Bessette; copies are available for checkout and signup is required. On Monday, July 27, at 11 a.m., the library's Pokémon Club invites kids and teens of any experience level to the Meeting Room for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, with registration required. And on Wednesday, July 29, at 6 p.m., the library's Outdoor Patio (weather permitting) will host a Summer Beach Party Concert featuring singer-songwriter Dave Rudolf, a veteran performer known for high-energy, family-friendly shows.
