WILMINGTON — Slagle presented $157M FY2027 budget with 3.43% increase. Town Manager R. Eric Slagle presented his second FY2027 budget proposal for Wilmington, with total spending at $157,191,688, $4.1 million in capital projects, and $4 million in capital stabilization.

The education budget was $62.5 million combined for schools and Shawsheen Tech. During public comment, Finance Committee member Scott Neville raised concerns about Wilmington's non-compliance with the MBTA Communities Zoning Act, which caused the loss of significant state grants. Town Manager Slagle confirmed Wilmington schools lost a $75,000 Innovative Career Pathways grant and $100,000-$200,000 in other grants, while the town lost a PFAS grant and became ineligible for a major MVP culvert replacement grant.
