Wilmington High School's football team stayed undefeated and unscored-upon as several other fall programs posted season-best results, Athletic Director Mr. Ingram told the School Committee this week.

WILMINGTON --

HIGH SCHOOL -- Football remains undefeated and has not allowed a point this season, Ingram told the Sept. 23 School Committee meeting. The team's next home game is Oct. 9 against Stoneham in league play; Ingram said the athletic department was monitoring an incoming storm that could affect the team's game that weekend.

Several programs reported season milestones. Volleyball picked up a win in September, its first in almost two years. Boys soccer opened the season with a 1-0 win, its first win in nearly three years, and has added another victory since; the team beat Arlington 2-1 on a goal scored with under four minutes left. Girls soccer's Callie Lamar scored four goals in a win over Methuen. Golf earned its first win of the season, a non-league win over Pentucket; the team plays its home matches at Hillview Golf Course in North Reading. Field hockey held its senior day on a Saturday against Haverhill and won, 4-0.

Cross country's girls team won by one point and the boys team beat Stoneham in a sweep; the team's next home meet is Oct. 6 against Melrose, with league meets typically held Tuesdays.

Cheerleading will host the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Wilmington High School.

Ingram also said the athletics department's new full-time trainer, Sam Gray, has moved concussion-testing to a phone-based system and introduced emergency medical record sheets shared with the nursing department and coaches. For winter, Wilmington will again field co-op teams in swimming (hosting, with North Reading), girls ice hockey (with Wakefield as host) and gymnastics (with Bedford as host).
