WILMINGTON — The Wilmington School Committee tabled its 2027-28 school calendar discussion and moved toward naming the new Wilmington Elementary School. The committee is expected to settle on a preferred school name at its November 18 meeting, after reviewing community survey results at an October 21 public hearing. Middle school student representatives Jessica Olson and Brayden Hayes gave their first report to the board, covering advisory programs, personalized academic goals and an upcoming production of "Frozen." Assistant Superintendent Christine Elliott presented 2026 MCAS results.
The committee also decided to form a districtwide working group of staff, teachers, students and parents to refine AI guidelines, calling the prior discussion "robust." Families will get a form this week from North Riding Transportation to access the school bus app.
